Live · Bitcoin Block Reward

--.---

Two devices racing for it side by side.

The silent long-distance runner and the real ASIC machine, both mining at the same time into your own wallet. Solo miners around the world find blocks regularly. Here are the most recent real finds:

Solo mining is probabilistic. Two devices increase the number of attempts, but that does not guarantee a block find. All data is verifiable live on mempool.space.

/ NOT AN EITHER-OR

Two devices. Two roles. One goal.

This is not a question of which one is better. The two complement each other: the Nerdminer V2 runs silently and invisibly around the clock, the NerdNOS brings real ASIC power to your desk. Both mine to the same address, and the bundle gets you both.

/ NO STAKE LOST

There is not much you can lose.

A lottery ticket is worthless after the draw. Your two miners are not, and that changes everything.

Common questions

Why two devices instead of one?

Because they complement each other and increase your number of attempts. The Nerdminer V2 runs silently under 1 watt around the clock, the NerdNOS brings real ASIC power at roughly 100 GH/s. Both mine in parallel to the same bitcoin address and the attempts add up. A block find stays a matter of luck, but with two devices you are in the same race more often.

Do both devices mine to the same bitcoin wallet?

Yes. You enter the same bitcoin receiving address on both devices, so if either one finds a block the full reward reaches you no matter which device hit. You can also give each device its own address and separate them in the pool dashboard by worker name (.nerdnos / .v2).

How good are the odds of a block, really?

Honestly: small, like a fair lottery. Every hash has exactly the same chance as one from a large farm though, and two devices mean more tickets. Solo miners worldwide find a block every 1 to 3 weeks, and there are documented hobby finds (for example the 2 TH/s solo find in January 2024). A find cannot be guaranteed. You can work through the numbers in the solo mining calculator.

What does the electricity cost for both devices?

Around 9 watts combined, the Nerdminer V2 under 1 watt and the NerdNOS around 8 watts. That works out at roughly 25 € of electricity a year at a German household tariff. No other running costs, no pool fees.

How do the NerdNOS and the Nerdminer V2 differ?

The Nerdminer V2 hashes in software on an ESP32-S3 at 78 to 250 KH/s, silently and under 1 watt. The NerdNOS additionally carries a real BM1397 ASIC at roughly 100 GH/s for about 8 watts, with a colour display. One is the invisible long-distance runner, the other the heavyweight on your desk. The comparison in detail.

How do I set up both devices?

The NerdNOS through the free Hashlink app (Bluetooth setup), the Nerdminer V2 through its Wi-Fi portal in the browser. Both need a 2.4 GHz network. Enter your bitcoin address, save, done. There is a step-by-step guide for both.

What happens if I find a block?

The block reward (currently 3.125 BTC, roughly 195,000 €) is sent by the solo pool straight to your bitcoin address. No fee, no pool share. After 6 confirmations (about 60 minutes) the amount is final in your wallet.

Do I have to pay tax on a find?

No tax arises while the devices simply run and find nothing. In Germany a find counts as other income under § 22 no. 3 EStG in the year it is received, with a 256 € exemption threshold per year, per the BMF letters of 10 May 2022 and 6 March 2025. If you hold the mined BTC for at least one year, the later private sale can be realised tax free under § 23 EStG. This is not tax advice. Please ask a tax adviser about your own case.

Do I need bitcoin knowledge to get started?

No. All you need is a bitcoin receiving address. You can get one in 10 minutes, free of charge and without buying any BTC, at Finst (advertisement*). The setup on both devices handles the rest. * Affiliate link. We receive a commission and it costs you nothing extra.

Do you ship to Austria and Switzerland?

Yes. We ship to DE, AT, CH and LU. Shipping within Germany takes 2 to 3 business days with DHL GoGreen. AT, CH and LU take 4 to 7 business days. Shipments to Switzerland incur customs duty and import VAT, payable by the recipient.
